After much speculation, a date for the eagerly-anticipated VERZUZ matchup between Jermaine Dupri and Diddy VERZUZ has finally been set.

According to a new video that has circulated through Busta Rhymes’ social media, the battle between the Diddy and Jermaine is taking place on September 8, at Madison Square Garden.

The duo have been teasing this matchup since September 2021, when JD tweeted, “Somebody let @Diddy know I’m @thegarden right now ! And he gon need some training for me,” and Diddy responded, “Beloved you my n***a but your arms too short to box with God!!! You aiint got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary . But I do have the upmost respect on you as a musical legend – Dre the only one can get in the ring w me . – LOVE”

Despite the unofficial announcement, VERZUZ co-founders Timbaland and Swizz Beatz have not formally confirmed the event. The last VERZUZ took place back in June 2022 between Omarion and Mario’s featuring Bobby V, Pleasure P, and Ray J.
